Frequently Asked Questions

It is independent, on-site verification that critical structural work — concrete, rebar, anchors, masonry, shear walls and soils — matches your approved plans. It is required whenever your plans' Statement of Special Inspections calls for it under Chapter 17 of the California Building Code.

Under CBC Section 1704.2, the special inspector is employed by the owner or the owner's authorized agent — not the contractor. This keeps every inspection independent. Contractors often coordinate scheduling with us on the owner's behalf.

Call or text as soon as your pour date is set — 48 hours' notice is ideal. For short-notice changes, call (424) 333-1596; we answer 24 hours a day.

It depends on the inspection types on your plans, the number of site visits, time on site, scheduling and any lab testing. Send us your plans and we'll reply with an itemized quote.

Often, yes. Many ADU plans call for special inspection of concrete foundations, epoxy anchors or shear walls. Check the Statement of Special Inspections on your approved plans, or send them to us and we'll tell you.
